Whitaker Ltd builds and operates the software layer that sits between a trader's strategy logic and their broker accounts. In practical terms: you supply the rules — when to buy, when to sell, how large the position — and Whitaker handles the technical execution: connecting to broker APIs, submitting and managing orders, enforcing your risk limits, logging every decision, and surfacing the state of your accounts in a single monitoring dashboard. We do not manage money, we do not generate signals, and we do not advise on strategy. We are an infrastructure provider. Our clients are independent algorithmic traders, small proprietary trading firms, and systematic fund managers operating primarily in Romania and the broader EU market. We have been running live broker integrations since 2019, have processed over 400,000 automated order submissions across four broker venues, and have maintained an average platform uptime of 99,7% since launch.
How the team works and what we actually care about

The Whitaker team is eight people: three backend engineers who came from fintech infrastructure roles in Warsaw and Bucharest, a data engineer who built the backtesting pipeline, two client integration specialists who handle onboarding and connector requests, and two of us on product and operations. We work from a single office on Strada Republicii, which means response times are measured in hours, not ticket queues. Our engineering practice is deliberately conservative: we prefer stable, auditable code over clever abstractions, and every change to the order-routing layer goes through a two-person review before deployment. We have a strong opinion that trading infrastructure should fail loudly rather than silently — a blocked order with a logged reason is a better outcome than a misrouted order with no trace. That conviction shapes every design decision we make. We also acknowledge what we are not good at: we are not a research firm, we cannot help you develop a trading strategy from scratch, and our connector roadmap is driven by client demand, so if your broker is not yet supported, there is a realistic wait of one to two quarters for a new integration.
