Native connectors, not lowest-common-denominator wrappers
The difference between a native connector and a generic adapter shows up at 08:00 when Frankfurt opens.
Generic broker wrappers expose a subset of an API's features and often miss the instrument-specific nuances that matter for real trading: fractional shares on Alpaca, guaranteed stops on OANDA, IB's multi-leg order types, Binance's spot vs futures account separation. Whitaker builds dedicated connectors that use each broker's full feature set. Authentication is handled via OAuth 2.0 or API key vault depending on the broker's protocol. Order submission, modification, and cancellation map to the broker's native endpoints rather than a translated intermediate layer. Position reconciliation runs on a configurable polling interval and flags discrepancies immediately.

Alpaca Markets
Commission-free US equity and crypto trading via Alpaca's REST and streaming APIs. Supports fractional shares, extended hours, and paper trading for strategy validation.
OANDA
FX and CFD trading with OANDA's v20 REST API. Supports guaranteed stops, trailing stops, and multi-currency account management across sub-accounts.
Binance
Spot, futures (USDM and COINM), and margin accounts via Binance's REST and WebSocket APIs. Position mode and hedge mode both supported.
